Active Military Banner Program
RECOGNIZING AND HONORING THOSE WHO SERVE
The City of San Marino wishes to honor community members who are actively serving in the U.S. Armed Forces or attending a military academy by displaying a personalized street banner in recognition of their service. The banners will be on display in the center of town from early September through early/mid-November. The banners will then be presented to each honoree (or a family member) at a special Thanksgiving Breakfast in November.
Banners will be offered at no cost to the serviceperson or his/her family. It is the City’s hope that this project can be funded entirely through donations.
In order to qualify, honorees must meet two general guidelines:
- First, the honoree must be on active duty with any branch of the the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard or National Guard) or be attending a military service academy.
- Second, the honoree must be a current or former San Marino resident, or live in the San Marino Unified School District boundary, or be a high school graduate of either San Marino High School or Southwestern Academy.
